USE THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE WHEN INSTALLING A FRONT CAMSHAFT BEARING AND RETAINER ASSEMBLY ON A 4.3L V-6 DIESEL ENGINE. 1.POSITION THE BEARING AND RETAINER ASSEMBLY ON THE BLOCK AND LOOSELY INSTALL THE BOLTS. 2.ROTATE THE CAMSHAFT AT LEAST FOUR (4) TURNS TO CENTER THE RETAINER 3.TORQUE CAMSHAFT BEARING RETAINER BOLTS EVENLY TO SPECIFICATIONS. 4.ROTATE THE CAMSHAFT TO BE SURE IT'S FREE. IF NOT, REPEAT THE PROCEDURE.
