Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Make sure the window lockout feature is not enabled.
  3. Verify that one or more of the passenger windows is inoperative.

Do all the passenger windows operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the passenger window switch for the inoperative window.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Probe the power window master switch lockout signal circuit of the inoperative passenger window switch with a test lamp that is connected to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

  1. Connect a test lamp between the power window master switch up signal circuit of the inoperative passenger window switch and power window master switch down signal circuit of the inoperative passenger window switch.
  2. Activate the driver window switch to the UP and DOWN positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both positions?

Go to Step 5

  1. Connect the inoperative passenger window switch.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative passenger window motor.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the power window motor up circuit of the inoperative passenger window motor and the power window motor down circuit of the inoperative passenger window motor.
  4. Activate the inoperative passenger window switch to the UP and DOWN positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both positions?

Go to Step 9

Test the power window master switch lockout signal circuit of the inoperative passenger window switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the inoperative power window master switch signal circuits of the inoperative passenger window switch for a short to voltage or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the inoperative power window motor circuits of the inoperative passenger window motor for a short to battery positive voltage or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the inoperative passenger window motor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the driver window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the inoperative passenger window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative passenger window motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement or Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .

Replace the driver window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

Replace the inoperative passenger window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
