WIRE WHEEL COVER INSTALLATION INFORMATION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1985 Electra

A change is being made, beginning with production of the 1985 Electra, which affects the retention system of this cover. The cover is retained by the centre bolt and bracket with tensioner arms on the bracket (Illustration I). Do not force or use a hammer or a mallet to install this cover.

It will be necessary to install the tensioner arms (anti-rotational clips) prior to the installation of the wheel cover (Illustration II).

If the lock brackets on the wheels are gold colour, the brackets shipped in the trunk package (silver colour) must be installed as per instructions (Illustration III). The centre stud on the sliver lock bracket is longer. The gold colour lock brackets are to be discarded.
