A/C- INSUFFICIENT COOLING MISSING HEAT SHIELD

SOME EARLY PRODUCTION 1985 "C" MODELS MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITHOUT THE SUBJECT HEAT SHIELD. IF AN AIR CONDITIONING FAILURE IS TRACED TO THE IDLE SPEED POWER STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH; CHECK FOR PRESENCE OF HEAT SHIELD (FIGURE 1). INSTALL HEAT SHIELD P/N 25522467 AND REPLACE SWITCH. THE SHIELD AFFORDS ADDED PROTECTIONS IN HOT AMBIENTS FROM EXHAUST HEAT AND SWITCH FAILURES.
