Vertical Line On Display When Rearview Camera Active - keywords detection intermittent navigation object radio rear screen view

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

A customer may comment of a vertical, fluorescent green line approximately 1/8" to 1/4" thick that could appear on the Navigation Radio display when in Reverse with the Rearview Camera active. This concern is intermittent and is caused by a reflection of light off of the chrome rear bumper fascia insert. This line may move left or right as the vehicle or light source moves.

Make no repair attempts for this concern as it is characteristic of this design and will only occur under specific lighting conditions.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
