DTC P0723 - keywords circut code dtc intermittent mil oss output p0723 sensor ses speed

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

This vehicle may have a concern of an intermittent DTC P0723.

Check freeze frame data to see if code set in park.

If the DTC set while vehicle was in park the cause is noise (EMI) on the sensor circuit. DO NOT replace any components. Engineering is aware of the issue and a new calibration will be released to correct.

Clear code and return vehicle to customer.

Any time the code sets in park the transmission will go to default mode and launch in 5th gear. If the vehicle is turned off and restarted the condition will most likely clear and the vehicle will operate normally.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
