POOR DEFROSTER OPERATION ON DRIVERS SIDE (SERVICE PROC.)

SUBJECT: POOR DEFROSTER OPERATION ON DRIVER'S SIDE OF WINDSHIELD (SERVICE PROCEDURE)

MODELS AFFECTED: 1991 PARK AVENUE/ULTRA

CONDITION:

----------- Some 1991 Park Avenue/Ultras may exhibit a poor defrost pattern or weak blower operation on the driver's side of windshield.

CORRECTION:

----------- 1. Remove Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad 2. Remove Information Center containing tell tale lights 3. Remove screw in boss, see figure. 4. Remove vanes two, four, and six from distributor assembly by wrapping vanes with duct tape and twisting out with 3 inch 90 degree needle nose pliers. (Snap-On Tool 497ACP or equivalent)

NOTE: No small pieces can fall into the duct or a rattle may result. This is why the vanes must be wrapped with duct tape or equivalent prior to removal. The number four vane also incorporates a boss which must also be wrapped with duct tape and removed while removing the vane.

5. Reinstall the Information Center and Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad. 6. Clean inside of the windshield and top of the Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad.
