* THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO REFLECT NEW PART INFORMATION.
---------- Some 1991 Park Avenue/Park Avenue Ultras built prior to VIN M1675000 with option "CJ2" (Automatic Dual Comfort Temperature Climate Control), may exhibit a condition where the customer comments that constant adjustments have to be made to the set temperature and fan settings to maintain comfort. In cold weather, this condition makes the vehicle interior stay hot for a very long time with the blower remaining on high, or in warmer ambient temperatures the vehicle stays cool for a very long time with the blower remaining on high.
------ The cause of this condition may be the improper sealing of the In-Car Temperature Sensor to the lower Instrument Panel Trim Plate Seal. This causes the sensor to draw air from under the dash instead of the passenger area through the holes in the Instrument Panel Trim Plate.
----------- To Correct the above condition, a new seal for the In-Car Sensor to Instrument Panel Trim Plate has been released to improve sealing in this area. Order part number 25608926. See Figure 1 for the installation procedure. This new seal should be installed in any case involving heating or air conditioning performance problems prior to diagnosing suspected control head, programmer or system problems.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
