SUNROOF LEAKS AND/OR NOISE REPLACE FRT. DRAIN HOSE

SUBJECT: SUNROOF LEAK AND/OR NOISE CAUSED BY PINCHED DRAIN HOSES (REPLACE FRONT DRAIN HOSE)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1991 "C" MODELS -------------------

CONDITION:

---------- Some 1991 "C', Models may experience a condition of water entering the passenger compartment, or gurgling noise around the sunroof module while driving in rain or through a car wash.

CAUSE:

------ A pinched sunroof front drain hose located at either A pillar may not allow for adequate drainage of the drain trough that encircles the sunroof module. Each of these hoses may be pinched at the A pillar under the headliner or at the wet rocker panel area due to excessive hose being pushed in rather than being trimmed to fit.

CORRECTION:

----------- 1. Pour water into sunroof front drain hoses and observe any "back-up" of water and/or gurgling type noises.

2. If either of the above conditions are observed, refer to Section 10 of the service manual for drain hose access.

3. Inspect for hoses to be pinched at A pillar under the headliner and at the wet rocker panel due to excessive hose. Refer to Fig 1

4. If either condition exists, replace front drain hose with Part Number 25603192.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
