SUBJECT: ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS MANUAL UPDATE/SECTION 8/INFORMATION CENTRE

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1991 "C" MODEL

The following Information Centre Connector Pinout Test, (Page 283), has been revised for late model 1991 Buick Park Avenue/ Park Avenue Ultra vehicles. The pages affected because of this revision are: 27, 28, 41, 63, 66, 82, 84, 91, 94, 110, 112, 137, 138, 174, 175, 183, 184, 278, 279, 281, 283, 295 and 296.

Please update your respective Electrical Systems Manual accordingly.

- Ignition switch: RUN (except for resistance measurements)

- Engine: off

- Make all resistance measurements with negative battery cable disconnected.

- Measure to ground unless another terminal is given.

- If correct voltage or resistance is not found at a terminal, do test given or go to section referred.

- If correct voltage or reslstance is found at a terminal, and function that uses that terminal does not operate, replace information Center, see (2), after checking suspect bulb(s) and connector terminal(s).

B1 DK GRN (146) TRUNK AJAR Indicator input. Grounded by pull-down unit with luggage compartment lid open. See Luggage Compartment Lid Release/Pull-Down And Fuel Door Release.

B2 Not used.

B3 ORN (40) Ignition power input to SECURITY Indicator. See I/P Fuse Block/Relay Center Details.

B4 DK GRN (264) SECURITY Indicator Input. See Theft Deterrent System.

B5 Not used.

B6 PNK/BLK (39) Ignition power Input to indicators. See I/P Fuse Block/Relay Center Details.

B7 TAN/WHT (33) BRAKE Indicator Input. Grounded with park brake applied, low brake fluid level, or with ignition switch at BULB TEST or START. See Antilock Brake System.

B8 BRN/WHT (419) SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator input. See Chassis Service Manual Section 6E3.

B9 WHT (852) ANTI-LOCK Indicator Input. See ANTILOCK Brake System.

B10 BRN (358) INFLATABLE RESTRAINT Indicator Input. See Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR).

B11 BRN/WHT (1173) CHECK OIL LEVEL Indicator Input. Grounded by Oil Level Module when oil level Is low. Do Oil Level Module Input Test H.

A1 Not used.

A3 GRY (1439) CHANGE OIL SOON Indicator input. Grounded by Oil Life Module. Do Oil Life Module isolation Test J.

A4 WHT (86) CRUISE Indicator input. Grounded with cruise control engaged. See Cruise Control.

AS DK BLU (745) DOOR AJAR Indicator input. Grounded with any door open.

A6 Not used.

A7 BLK/WHT (99) WASHER FLUID LOW Indicator input. Grounded with low washer fluid level. See Wiper/Washer.

A8 YEL (237) Multi-Function Chime (MPC) Module to FASTEN BELTS Indicator. See Warnings And Alarms: Chime.

A9 BLK (152) Ground to G200. See Ground Distribution.

A10 YEL/BLK (68) COOLANT LOW Indicator input. Grounded by Low Coolant Module. Do Low Coolant Module Input Test G.

A11 Not used.
