THIS BULLETIN IS REVISED TO INCLUDE TERMINAL REPLACEMENT INFORMATION.
---------- Some 1991 Park Avenue/Ultras built prior to VIN M1642468 may exhibit a condition where the power windows, sunroof, memory seat/mirrors, power door locks, power seats, remote keyless entry, automatic door locks and/or rear defogger does not operate.
------ The cause of this condition is the number 3 and/or 4 circuit breaker in the I/P fuse block not making proper contact in the fuse block. A change was made at the start of production in the terminal used for the fuse block on the 1991 Park Avenue/Ultra. A corresponding change to the circuit breaker to adapt to these new terminals did not occur. This old style circuit breaker will not reach far enough into the fuse block to make good contact.
----------- To correct the above condition, a new circuit breaker should be used in positions 3 and 4 of the instrument panel fuse block. The old circuit breaker can be identified by a stamped "240", on the case and an unfinished aluminum color. The new circuit breaker can be identified by a green color and the part number 12040832 stamped on the case.
The fuse block terminals must also be replaced to insure proper contact of the circuit breaker. Part Number 12084587 (20 per pkg.) services both terminals.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
