Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Loosen the pinch bolt on the outer adjustment link.
  3. Support the exhaust and rear of the support assembly. Use a block of wood at least 7 inches long.
  4. Remove the four exhaust hangers.
  5. Remove the two rear assembly bolts. Lower the support and exhaust together.

  7. Remove the cam bolt and nut. Remove the adjustment link from the support assembly.
  8. Remove the inner adjustment link from the outer adjustment link. Note the number of turns for assembly reference.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inner adjustment link to the outer adjustment link, tightening the same number of turns as removal.
  2. Install the inner adjustment link to the support assembly.

  3. Object Number: 105028  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the cam bolt, washer, and nut.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the cam nut to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

    Tighten
    Tighten the pinch bolt to 48 N·m (35 lb ft).

  6. Raise the support the assembly and exhaust.
  7. Install the two bolts securing the support assembly to the body of the vehicle.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 165 N·m (122 lb ft).

  9. Install the four exhaust hangers.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Disassemble
    Check and set the rear toe after installing the adjustment link. Refer to Front Toe Adjustment in Suspension.
