The Buick uses a CB-series power steering pump. The Oldsmobile uses a TC-series power steering pump. The pumps are vane-type positive displacement pumps with an integral fluid reservoir. A pressure relief valve limits the maximum system pressure. The pressure relief valve is located inside of the flow control valve in the pump housing. Do not service the relief valve separately. The engine drives the power steering pump by an automatically tensioned drive belt.
