Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 324906 Size: SH
  1. Install the electrical brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) actuator.

    2. Install the gear shift lever and put the column in the NEUTRAL position.

  2. Adjust the electrical BTSI actuator by performing the following steps:
    3. 2.1. Pull the tab out on the block side of the electrical BTSI actuator.
    2.2. Press on the adjuster block in order to compress the internal adjuster spring to disengage the adjuster teeth. Slide the adjuster block as far away as possible from the solenoid.
    2.3. Lock in place by pushing the tab back in.
  3. Inspect the electrical BTSI actuator by performing the following steps:
    4. 3.1. The electrical BTSI actuator must lock the gear shift lever when the lever is put into the PARK position.
    3.2. When the column is installed in the vehicle, you will not be able to shift the gear shift lever out of the PARK position without pressing on the brake pedal. The solenoid will be energized.
    3.3. Readjust if needed.
  4. Install the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
