Caution: The seat belt assembly and/or the bracket assembly must be replaced as a unit only. Do not substitute parts for any reason, or personal injury could result in the event of a collision.

1. Remove the seat assembly. Refer to Seat Replacement in Seats.
2. Raise the head restraint to the full up position.
3. Remove the head restraint. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement in Seats.



4. Remove the outside trim panels (15).
5. Remove the lap belt retractor nut (7).
6. Remove the lap belt retractor (6).
7. Remove the push-in retainer (12) from the lap belt escutcheon (14).
8. Remove the rear head restraint trim cover.
9. Remove the seat back trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Trim Replacement in Seats.
10. Remove the front head restraint trim cover (1).
11. Feed the front trim cover and the lap belt retractor (6) through the seat back trim cover.
12. Remove the four hex head fasteners (3) from the roller assembly.
13. Remove the roller assembly.
14. Drill out the two rivets from the intermediate guide (4).
15. Remove the shoulder belt retractor bolt (8).
16. Remove the shoulder belt retractor (5).
17. Remove the belt assembly from the seat.

1. Install the shoulder belt retractor (5).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the shoulder belt retractor bolt (8).

Tighten
Tighten the shoulder belt retractor bolt to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the intermediate guide.
4. Install the two rivets that attach the intermediate guide (4).
5. Install the roller assembly.
6. Install the four hex head fasteners (3).

Tighten
Tighten the roller assembly fasteners to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

7. Feed the lap belt retractor (6) and front head restraint trim cover (1) through the set back trim cover.
8. Install the front head restraint trim cover.
9. Install the lap belt retractor to the seat assembly.
10. Install the lap belt retractor nut (7).

Tighten
Tighten the lap belt retractor nut to 41 N·m (30 lb in).

11. Install the seat back trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Trim Replacement in Seats.
12. Install the rear head restraint trim cover.
13. Install the lap belt escutcheon (14).
14. Install the outside trim panels (15).
15. Install the head restraint. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement in Seats.
16. Install the seat assembly. Refer to Seat Replacement in Seats.
17. Lower the head restraint.
