Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Disconnect the suspect rear door latch assembly connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Use a J 39200 DMM in order to measure the voltage between the connector terminal B (LT BLU/BLK) (left side) or terminal C (LT GRN/ BLK) (right side) and ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 8

Inspect CKT 747 (LT BLU/BLK) (left side) or CKT 748 (LT GRN/BLK) (right side) for an open or a short to ground.

Is the wiring OK?

Go to Step 5

Repair the open or short to ground on CKT 747 (LT BLU/BLK) or CKT 748 (LT GRN/BLK).

Did you complete the repair?

--

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

Inspect the instrument cluster connector C2 for proper terminal contact at terminal A4 (left side) or terminal B5 (right side).

Is the terminal contact OK?

--

Go to Step 7

Repair the poor terminal contact.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement.

Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage between connector B and connector D (left side) or connector C and connector D (right side).

Is the measured voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Inspect CKT 151 (BLK/WHT) for an open.

Is the wiring OK?

Repair the open in CKT 151 (BLK/WHT).

Inspect the suspect rear door latch assembly for proper terminal contact.

Is the terminal contact OK?
