The garage door opener (GDO) is located in the overhead console and is provided battery voltage when the vehicle is in START or RUN. The unit is programmed using the hand-held transmitter of the owner's garage door/gate opener, security system or other compatible radio frequency feature.

The GDO is compatible with most types and brands of transmitters.

If the garage door opener system is inoperative, verify that the following receiver equipment conditions exist before performing the garage door opener functional test:

    • The receiver and the transmitter are coded the same.
    • The receiver unit has electrical power through the 110 V transformer.
    • The device being operated has power.
    • Inspect the receiver hook-up wiring for damage. Breaks in the wire are normally found under staples or at connections.
    • The antenna is properly installed in the receiver.

If the problem persists and the hand-held transmitter is confirmed to be functioning properly, contact HomeLink ™ at 1-800-355-3515 for additional assistance.
