Removal Procedure
- Remove the front seat assembly. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
- Remove the head restraint. Refer to
Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement
.
- Remove the seatback trim cover. Refer to
Front Seat Back Trim Replacement
.
- Remove the shoulder belt roller assembly.
- Remove the seatback cover from the seatback cushion. Refer to
Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement
.
Important: Do not damage the wire or the connector when removing the electrical
harness.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the 2 bolts (2)
on each side of the seatback frame (4).
- Remove the seatback frame (4).
Installation Procedure
- Install the seatback frame (4).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Apply Loctiteâ„¢
242 (GM P/N 12345382) to the seatback frame bolts. Install the 2 bolts (2)
on each side of the seatback frame (4).
Tighten
Tighten the seatback frame bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the seatback cover. Refer to
Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement
.
- Install the shoulder belt roller assembly.
- Install the seatback trim cover. Refer to
Front Seat Back Trim Replacement
- Install the head restraint. Refer to
Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement
.
- Install the front seat assembly. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
