J 25070 Heat Gun

1. Wash the affected panel area with soap and water.

Wipe the panel area dry with a lint-free cloth.

2. Use 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984 in order to remove all traces of adhesive from the following areas:

•	The body panel

•	The back of the molding

3. Use a clean lint-free cloth and a 50 / 50 alcohol/water mixture to wipe the panel.



4. Use a length of masking tape or a magnetic strip in order to mark the proper position of the emblem/nameplate.



5. If the vehicle body temperature is below 21°C (70°F) due to shop temperature or outside temperature, use the J 25070 in order to warm the body panel.



6. Apply a double-coated acrylic foam tape as needed to the emblem/nameplate using one of the following 3M Super Automotive Attachment Tape:

•	3M 06380 (white backing)

•	3M 06377 (black backing)

•	3M 06382 (gray backing), or the equivalent

7. Align the emblem/nameplate.

Firmly press the emblem/nameplate in place in order to ensure proper adhesion.
