Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 255860  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Rear Seat Trim Panel Replacement in Seats.
  3. Remove the torque rods (1) from the hinge (2). Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment .

  4. Object Number: 255861  Size: SH
  5. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
  6. • The nuts
    • The bolts
  7. Remove the hinge from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 255860  Size: SH
  1. Install the hinge (2) to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 255861  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the following components to the vehicle:
  4. • The nuts
    • The bolts
    • Tighten the nuts and the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the torque rods (1) to the hinge. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment .
  6. Install the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Rear Seat Trim Panel Replacement in Seats.
  7. Install the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  8. Adjust the rear compartment lid as necessary.
  9. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment .
