Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to
Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement
.
- Remove the nut (1)
retaining latch striker (2) from inside the rear compartment.
- Remove the rear fascia. Refer to
Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement
.
- Remove the nuts (3) retaining latch striker (2)
from outside the rear compartment.
- Remove the rear compartment latch striker (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear compartment
latch striker (2).
- Install the nuts (1,3) in order retain the latch striker (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Adjust the rear compartment
latch striker (2), as necessary.
Tighten
Tighten the latch striker nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the rear fascia. Refer to
Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement

- Install the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to
Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement
.
