SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30-40 MPH (48-64 KM/H) UP A SLIGHT GRADE, THEY HEAR A WHISTLE TYPE NOISE.
THE THROTTLE BODY AIR BLADE IS CONTOURED AND MAY BE CAUSING THE WHISTLE NOISE.
DIAGNOSTICS -
INSTALL A SCAN TOOL AND MONITOR THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS) AND VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR (VSS). DRIVE THE VEHICLE BETWEEN 20-25% TPS AT 30-40 MPH (48-64 KM/H) AS INDICATED ON THE SCAN TOOL. THE THROTTLE ANGLE MUST REMAIN STEADY FOR 3-4 SECONDS IN ORDER FOR THE WHISTLE TYPE NOISE TO BE HEARD. IF THE WHISTLE NOISE IS HEARD, THEN TRY VARYING THE THROTTLE ANGLE TO DETERMINE IF THE WHISTLE NOISE IS AFFECTED. IF YES, THEN REPAIR THE VEHICLE AS FOLLOWS.
REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WITH PART NUMBER 24507238. THIS ASSEMBLY HAS A REDESIGNED AIR BLADE PROFILE.
