Warranty reviews on returned outside rearview mirror assemblies indicate that, during repair procedures, the power pack crossmember may be damaged or broken.

The following removal procedures for the mirror glass and case assemblies is recommended in order to reduce the possibility of damaging or breaking the outside rearview mirror power pack crossmember (1).

  1. For LEFT SIDE mounted outside rearview mirror assemblies:

    2. Apply thumb pressure to the inboard side of the mirror glass and case assembly and pull from the BOTTOM corner of the outboard side of the mirror glass and case assembly until it "snaps away" from the power pack.

  2. For RIGHT SIDE mounted outside rearview mirror assemblies:

    3. Apply thumb pressure to the inboard side of the mirror glass and case assembly and pull from the TOP corner of the outboard side of the mirror glass and case assembly until it "snaps away" from the power pack.
