Removal Procedure
Important: Ensure that the window is in the full-up position.
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Peel the water deflector down far enough to access the inside
of the door latch. Refer to
Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Disconnect the outside door handle rod from the door latch.
- Remove the plugs (1).
- Remove the fasteners from
the handle assembly.
- Gently flex the lower tabs upwards in order to allow the handle
to disengage from the outer door panel flange.
- Remove the outside door handle.
- Remove the rod from the handle.
Installation Procedure
- Insert the top of the
outside handle (1) into the door.
- Apply pressure at the lower portion of the handle assembly to
snap the tabs (2) into place.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the door
handle fasteners.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
- Install the outside door handle rod to the door latch.
- Install the fastener access hole plugs.
- Install the water deflector. Refer to

- Install the trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
