Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 441943 Size: SH
  1. Lower the window all the way down.
  2. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the garnish molding. Refer to Front Side Door Opening Frame Garnish Molding Replacement .
  4. Remove the inner belt molding. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  5. Remove the outer belt molding. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  6. Grasp the window weatherstrip at the lower rear corner.
  7. Pull up and forward in order to release the window weatherstrip from the door frame far enough to expose the door applique fasteners.

  8. Remove the applique fasteners (3) from the inside edge of the door frame.

    9. Object Number: 539899 Size: SH
  9. Pull the lower edge of the applique forward and down in order to remove the applique.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 539899 Size: SH
  1. Insert the top of the applique under the upper auxiliary molding.

    2. Important: Do not damage the paint.

  2. Slide the bottom of the applique back until the applique is seated against the door frame.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the applique fasteners.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  4. Install the rear portion of the window weatherstrip (1).
    5. 4.1. Slide the end down into the door frame, ensuring that the window is in the door frame.
    4.2. Squeeze and push the remaining portion of the window weatherstrip into the door frame.
  5. Install the outer belt molding. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .
  6. Install the inner belt molding. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement .
  7. Install the garnish molding. Refer to Front Side Door Opening Frame Garnish Molding Replacement .
  8. Install the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
