Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 262704  Size: SH

    Important: Disconnect the following cables from the top of the washer container only.

  1. Disconnect the cruise control cable from the top side of the washer solvent container.
  2. Disconnect the accelerator cable (2) from the top side of the washer solvent container.
  3. Disengage the underhood electrical harness from the rear stud on the left strut tower.
  4. Disengage the washer pump electrical harness from the front stud on the left strut tower.

  6. Remove the 2 nuts from the top side of the washer solvent container.
  7. Gently move the washer solvent container away from the strut tower in order to access the washer pump connections.
  8. Disconnect the washer pump hose.
  9. Drain the washer solvent into a suitable container.

  10. Object Number: 537218  Size: SH
  11. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  12. Pry outward on the washer pump in order to release the washer pump from the molded tabs in the side of the container.
  13. Pry the pump upward in order to release the washer pump from the washer solvent container.
  14. Remove and discard the washer pump grommet.
  15. Remove the washer pump from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the washer pump grommet to the washer solvent container.
  2. Position the pump to the grommet.
  3. Push the washer pump downward in order to seat the washer pump to the grommet.
  4. Push inward the washer pump in order to seat the washer pump to the molded tabs on the side of the washer solvent container.
  5. Connect the electrical connector to the washer pump.
  6. Connect the washer hose to the washer pump.
  7. Position the washer solvent container to the locating studs on the left strut tower.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the 2 nuts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 8 N·m (70 lb in).

  11. Engage the washer pump electrical harness to the front stud on the left strut tower.
  12. Engage the underhood electrical harness to the rear stud on the left strut tower.

  14. Connect the accelerator cable (2) to the top side of the washer solvent container.
  15. Connect the cruise control cable to the top side of the washer solvent container.
  16. Fill the washer solvent container with washer solvent.
  17. Secure the washer container cap.
