Subject:HVAC Control Module Memory Functions -- Elimination of Climate Control Personalization Feature

Models:2004 Buick Rainier
2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, TrailBlazer EXT
2004 GMC Envoy, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV
with Automatic Temperature Control HVAC System (RPO CJ2), Driver Information Center (RPO U68) and Memory Driver Convenience Package (RPO AAB)
Built AFTER February 16, 2004

Effective AFTER February 16, 2004, the Climate Control Personalization feature on all of the above models equipped with Automatic Temperature Control (RPO CJ2) will no longer be available. The operator will not be able to recall any climate control memory settings for Driver 1 and Driver 2 when the selection on the DIC (Driver Information Center) is set for memory recall "key fob" and "key in ignition", or when the memory buttons on the door are depressed.

Important: Prior to servicing the HVAC Control Module, determine the part number by using a scan tool, such as the TECH 2®.

This modification to the vehicle's personalization features is a result of a calibration change to the HVAC control module. The modified, 2nd design HVAC control module can be identified by P/N 15132070. The HVAC settings on this new modified control module will always default to the settings last used.

GMSPO will continue to stock the 1st design HVAC control module for those vehicles currently equipped with the Climate Control Personalization feature.
