1. WARRANTY AND OWNER ASSISTANCE ON 1991 BUICK NEW CARS

For 1991, a single booklet containing warranty information relative to the new car, emission systems, tire and corrosion is used:

#25536875 - 1991 Warranty and Owner Assistance Information For Buick New Cars

Owner assistance satisfaction procedures, the GM mediation/arbitration program, special policy adjustment programs, and the GM Protection Plan are all outlined in this booklet. A separate tire warranty folder is included to outline warranty as provided by individual tire manufacturers.

The owner's name, address, Vehicle Identification Number, date of delivery and mileage at the time of delivery, are all to be typed on the inside of the front cover of the booklet in the space provided. There is a space provided on the back of the folder for the dealer name, address and dealer code.

It is very important that the Owner and Vehicle Information on the booklet be correct. This information will be the only means of owner identification for repairs covered under warranty. In order for dealer warranty claims to be properly processed, the Vehicle Identification Number must be correct. Owners should be instructed to carry their Warranty and Owner Assistance information booklets in their vehicles at all times.

2. 1991 SERVICE MANUALS

1991 service manuals will be shipped to all Buick dealers no later than September, 1990, as follows:

- LeSabre Electrical Systems Manual - LeSabre Service Manual - Park Avenue/Ultra Electrical Systems Manual (Previously released) - Park Avenue/Ultra Service Manual (Previously released) - Riviera/Reatta Service Manual - Skylark Service Manual - Century Service Manual - Roadmaster Estate Wagon Service Manual - Regal Service Manual

Continuing in 1991, the Buick LeSabre and Park Avenue/Ultra will have specifically designed service manuals for electrical systems. These manuals provide complete service information for each electrical system and remains exclusive to Buick for 1991. Other features include:

- Electrical schematics with point-to-point checks and component operation included - Complete electrical harness and component location illustrations - Illustrated remove, repair and install procedures - Diagnosis tables or "trouble tree" charts - Service part name reference chart

Similarly, the new graphic format for body service information will be continued for the Buick LeSabre and Park Avenue/Ultra in 1991. This format was expanded to the 3800 L27 engine (VIN L) in the Park Avenue/Ultra service manual.

Additional manuals can be ordered on the "Service Publications for Buick Dealers" order form which is included with selected manual shipments or available from your Zone/Branch Office.

4. 1991 VEHICLE CERTIFICATION AND TIRE PRESSURE LABEL

In accordance with Federal Motor Vehicle Regulations, a Vehicle Certification and Tire Pressure Label is being affixed to all 1991 model Buicks.

The label will have a certification statement, Vehicle Identification Number, month and year that the vehicle was built. The label will be attached horizontally to the left front door inner panel lock facing on most models.

The lower portion of the label will have the tire size and tire pressure information.

Due to the certification label's location, it may be subject to damage during car shipment and new vehicle pre-delivery service or may be required due to door repair or replacement.

To acquire a replacement certification label, proceed as follows:

A. Check Vehicle Identification Number on engine block and identification number on instrument panel to see that they match.

B. Send a readable machine copy of the vehicle invoice, along with aletter of explanation to your Zone/Branch Office, Attention Ass't. Zone Manager - Service/Branch Manager.

NOTE: Replacement labels are only available for current model year.

5. SERVICE PARTS IDENTIFICATION LABEL

Assembly centers no longer use a body number plate that contains paint and trim information. This information, along with options and build content, is now recorded on the Service Parts Identification (SPID) label. Care should be taken to transfer the SPID label or its information, if panel to which label is affixed requires replacement. Replacement SPID labels are not available.

6. 1991 NEW VEHICLE INSPECTION PROCEDURE FORM

For the New Vehicle Inspection and Delivery Procedure which was introduced in 1983, use New Vehicle Inspection Procedure Sheet 101072, revised 6/90. This form is shipped with each Buick delivered to you. Additional forms may be obtained through your Publication Service Order Form.

7. 1991 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

The Maintenance Schedule is part of each owners' manual for 1991. With the exception of the 1991 Regal Sedans produced before August, the separate maintenance booklet has been discontinued. It is Part 7 of the owner's manual and is specific to the applicable vehicle.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
