---------- The vanity mirror assembly is loose inside the sunvisor cavity.
------- A few early built sunvisors had snap tabs moulded incorrectly that retain the mirror assembly tightly within the sunvisor cavity.
------------ The vanity mirror can be secured by using the following procedure and installing two (2) clips, part number 12507622. The sunvisor assembly does not have to be removed to install the retention clips.
1. Tilt sunvisor down and using a thin bladed screwdriver, pry up gently under the vanity mirror's base to disengage the assembly from the sunvisors cavity. Do not pry on the trim edge, as separation of the trim bezel could occur and damage the unit. Refer to Figure 1
2. Place two (2) vanity clips in front of the visor snap tabs so the step at the vanity clip base is facing towards the visor tab(s). Refer to Figure 2.
3. Install the mirror assembly with the upper retaining tabs inserted into the visor notches and push forward. Refer to Figure 2
4. When the upper tabs are inserted, press against the vanity bezel firmly until the mirror assembly is fully inserted inside the visor cavity. When the installation is complete, a sufficient amount of cloth foam will be compressed and none of the vanity base will be visible.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
