Generator Bracket Replacement Tensioner Assembly
Removal Procedure
- Remove the generator.
Refer to
Generator Replacement
.
- Remove the generator bracket
bolts.
- Remove the generator bracket.
Installation Procedure
- Install the generator
bracket to the engine.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install and finger
tighten the generator bracket bolts.
- Tighten the generator bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the generator.

Generator Bracket Replacement Brace Bracket Assembly
Removal Procedure
- Remove the fuel injector
sight shield. Refer to

3.8L.
- Remove EGR heat shield bolt at the generator brace bracket.
- Remove the rear generator brace. Refer to
Generator Brace Replacement
.
- Remove the fuel rail assembly. Refer to
Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement
in Engine
Controls - 3.8L.
- Remove the generator brace bracket bolts.
- Remove the generator brace bracket.

- Install the generator
brace bracket to the engine.

Tighten the generator brace bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the fuel rail assembly. Refer to

Controls - 3.8L.
- Install the rear generator brace. Refer to
Generator Brace Replacement
.
- Install the EGR heat shield bolt at the generator brace bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the EGR heat shield bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to
Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement
in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
