Removal Procedure
- Remove the Brake pedal Refer to
Brake Pedal Replacement
- Remove the wiring harness clips from the bracket (3).
- Remove the brake pedal
bracket upper mounting nuts to cross car beam.
- Remove the brake pedal bracket upper mounting bolts to cross
car beam.
- Remove the brake pedal bracket lower mounting bolts to reinforcement
bracket.
- Remove the brake pedal bracket.
- Inspect all components for wear. Repair or replace the worn parts
as necessary.
Installation Procedure
- Install the brake pedal
bracket (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the brake
pedal bracket lower mounting bolts to the reinforcement bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
- Install the brake pedal upper mounting bolts to the cross car
beam.
Tighten
Tighten the upper mounting bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the brake pedal bracket upper mounting nuts to the cross
car beam.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the Brake pedal. Refer to
Brake Pedal Replacement
.
- Install the wiring harness clips to the bracket.
- Adjust the stoplamp switch. Refer to
Stop Lamp Switch Adjustment
