Problem

Action

The cancel cam is worn.

Replace the cancel cam. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

The detent spring exhibits one of the following conditions:

    • Broken
    • Missing
    • Out of position
  1. Adjust the spring.
  2. Replace the components as needed. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

The return spring exhibits one of the following conditions:

    • Broken
    • Missing
    • Out of position
    • Adjust the spring as needed.

The cancel spring exhibits one of the following conditions:

    • Broken
    • Missing
    • Out of position
  1. Adjust the spring as needed.
  2. Replace the components as needed.Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

The multifunction turn signal switch mounting screws are loose.

Tighten the multifunction turn signal switch screws. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .

The following components are broken:

    • The switch.
    • The anchor bosses

Replace the multifunction turn signal switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
