Enhanced diagnostic information is found in the DTC HISTORY
function of the scan tool. Enhanced diagnostic information provides the service
technician with specific malfunction occurrence information. The following
actions occur for each of the last three diagnostic trouble codes that are
stored:
• | Data is stored to identify the specific DTC. |
• | The following data is stored: |
- | The vehicle speed at the DTC set |
- | The states of the Traction Control System (TCS) and the brake
light switches |
- | Whether the Antilock Brake System (ABS) and TCS were active or
passive |
• | The number of drive cycles since the malfunction last occurred
is stored. A drive cycle occurs when the ignition is turned to RUN. |
• | The drive cycle counter will increment by turning the ignition
to the RUN and OFF if a malfunction is not present. |
• | The last three diagnostic trouble codes are stored in the order
of occurrence. |
• | The Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module (EBTCM) stores
only the data that is associated with the most recent occurrence of each code.
Data that was previously stored is overwritten by the latest information. |
