The dome
lamp and the roof rail courtesy/reading lamps stay on under the following
conditions:
• | All of the doors are closed. |
• | The instrument panel (IP) dimmer switch is off. |
• | None of the interior lighting modes are activated. |
However, the inadvertent load (battery rundown) protection turns off
the courtesy lights after 20 minutes.

- Ensure that the IP dimmer switch is off.
- Close all of the vehicle doors.
- Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
- Connect a Scan Tool
Tech 2 scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
- Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
- Use the Scan Tool
Tech 2 scan tool in order to monitor the status of the THEATER DIM 2.
Does the Scan Tool
Tech 2 scan tool display that the status of the THEATER DIM 2
is off?

- Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
- Disconnect the BCM connector C2 and connector C3.
- Use a J 39200
digital multimeter (DMM) in order to measure the resistance between the BCM
harness connector C2 terminal A1 and ground.
Is the resistance within the specified range?
