Sunroof Drain Hose Replacement Front
Removal Procedure
- Remove the parking brake pedal, if replacing the left front hose.
Refer to
Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement
in Brakes.
- Remove the acoustical patch.
- Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
in Interior
Trim.
- Insert a deep-well socket into the old drain hose (2) at the sunroof
module.
- Ensure that the socket fits tightly into the hose.
- Push the socket until half of the socket is in the old hose.
- Insert the remaining half of the socket into the new drain hose.
- Carefully pull the old hose through the A-pillar from the bottom,
while feeding the new hose from the top. The socket will keep both pieces
of the hose together.
- Remove the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Unclamp the drain hose
from the sunroof module.
- Insert a deep-well socket into the old drain hose (2) at the sunroof
module.
- Ensure that the socket fits tightly into the hose.
- Push the socket until half of the socket is in the old hose.
- Insert the remaining half of the socket into the new drain hose.
- Carefully pull the old hose through the A-pillar from the bottom,
while feeding the new hose from the top. The socket will keep both pieces
of the hose together.
Installation Procedure
Important: Lubricate each end of the sunroof drain hose with general purpose lubricant
GM P/N 12345579 or equivalent.
- Install the sunroof drain
hose in the vehicle.
- Attach the sunroof drain hose to the sunroof module.
Important: Rotate the clamp 90 degrees in order to ensure clearance when the headliner
is installed.
- Install the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
in Interior
Trim.
- Install the acoustical patch.
- Install the parking brake lever, if replacing the left front hose.

Sunroof Drain Hose Replacement Rear
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to
Rear Seat Cushion Replacement
in Seats.
- Remove the rear seat back. Refer to
Rear Seat Back Replacement
in Seats.
- Remove the upper quarter trim panel. Refer to
Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior
Trim.
- Remove the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Unclamp the sunroof drain hose from the sunroof
module.
- Remove the sunroof drain hose from the C-pillar.
- Remove the hose from the sunroof drain hose at the base of the
C-pillar.
- Remove the sunroof drain hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the sunroof drain hose to the vehicle.
Important
Lubricate each end of the hose with general purpose lubricant GM P/N
12345579 or equivalent . If a channel is provided in the inner sheet metal
for the routing of the drain hose, use tape to secure the hose in this channel.
- Install the sunroof drain hose to the drain tube at the base of
the C-pillar.
- Install the sunroof drain hose to the C-pillar.
- Clamp the sunroof drain hose to the sunroof module.
Important: Rotate the clamp 90 degrees in order to ensure clearance when the headliner
is installed.
- Install the headliner. Refer to

- Install the upper quarter trim panel. Refer to
Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement

Trim.
- Install the rear seat back. Refer to
Rear Seat Back Replacement
in Seats.
- Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to
Rear Seat Cushion Replacement
in Seats.
