Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 811636 Size: SH

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Important: The correct thread engagement is critical. Crossthreaded fittings can achieve proper tightness and still leak.

  1. Apply sealant to the transaxle oil cooler fittings (2).
  2. Install the transaxle oil cooler fittings (2) to the transaxle.
  3. Tighten
Tighten the transaxle oil cooler fittings to 38 N·m (28 lb ft).

  4. Install the transaxle oil cooler pipes to the transaxle oil cooler fittings. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Notice: Refer to Transmission Overfill Notice in the Preface section.
