Outside Rearview Mirror Shake/Inoperative (Replace Mirror Motor Assembly)

Some customers may comment that the outside rearview mirror shakes or they are unable to electronically adjust the mirror.

This may be the result of the adjustment jackscrews detaching from the mirror reaction plate when the mirror glass is cleaned or bumped.

Replace the mirror actuator following the procedure below.

Replace both RH and LH actuators at time of repair.

Caution: Approved safety glasses and gloves should be worn when performing this procedure to reduce the chance of personal injury.

1. Remove the glass by grasping the upper outboard edge of the glass and pulling towards the lower inboard direction.
2. For heated glass, remove the connectors from the heater pad terminals. Use care not to damage the terminals.
3. Remove the three actuator attaching screws.
4. Remove the electrical connector from the actuator.
5. Replace the actuator

5.1.	For memory, reattach the memory connector

5.2.	For both memory or non-memory, reattach the four prong connector (listen for a double click).

6. Reinstall the three actuator attaching screws.
7. For heated glass, reattach the heater pad terminals.
8. Center the glass assembly over the actuator and snap it into place using the palm of your hand. Push the glass assembly parallel with the actuator.
9. MANUALLY ADJUST THE GLASS IN ALL FOUR DIRECTIONS TO VERIFY PROPER ATTACHMENT. ALSO VERIFY THE ELECTRICAL OPERATION OF THE MIRROR.

Replace both RH and LH actuators at time of repair.
