The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some 2004-05 Buick Rendezvous/Pontiac Aztek customers may report that their fuel and/or temperature gauge fluctuates erratically. Engineering has determined that vehicles may have the incorrect IPC calibration.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Vehicles equipped with a LY7 3.6L engine can order a replacement cluster which can be obtained from their local Authorized Electronic Service Center or Specmo Enterprises in Madison Heights, Michigan. Specmo's telephone numbers are (248) 307-2570 or (800) 545-7911.
Vehicles equipped with a LA1 3.4L engine are operating as designed and the cluster should not be replaced until further notice. Engineering is working on a fix and a service bulletin or voice mail will follow.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
