THE 1995 MAGNASTEER SERVICE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WILL BE AVAILABLE THROUGH A SPECIAL PARTS RETURN PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM WILL EXPEDITE EARLY OWNER/DEALERSHIP FEEDBACK AND MINIMIZE THE SERVICE AND DIAGNOSTIC CONCERNS ASSOCIATED WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF NEW PRODUCT TECHNOLOGIES. THIS PROGRAM IS NEW WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF THE AURORA AND RIVIERA MODELS AND WILL CONTINUE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
THE PART REPLACEMENT/RETURN PROCEDURE:
1. THE DEALERSHIP TECHNICIAN -
A. THE DEALERSHIP TECHNICIAN IS REQUIRED TO DIAGNOSE THE MAGNASTEER STEERING SYSTEM USING SECTIONS 3 AND 8A OF THE SERVICE MANUAL.
B. IF THE STEERING GEAR IS DETERMINED TO BE THE PART REQUIRED FOR SERVICE, THE TECHNICIAN MUST THEN CONTACT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO VERIFY THE DIAGNOSIS AND ESTABLISH A TAS CASE.
C. ALL OTHER NECESSARY SERVICE PARTS FOR THE MAGNASTEER SYSTEM, EXCEPT THE STEERING GEAR, WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM GMSPO FOR DIRECT PURCHASE.
2. REPLACEMENT PART ORDERS -
A. UPON VERIFICATION OF PROPER DIAGNOSIS, THE TAS CONSULTANT WILL PLACE THE NECESSARY PART ORDER DIRECTLY TO GMSPO.
B. THE ORDERED PARTS WILL BE SHIPPED FROM THE GMSPO WAREHOUSE TO THE DEALER WITHIN 24 HOURS VIA OVERNIGHT DELIVERY SERVICE. THE PART WILL BE BILLED TO GMSPO, WITH THE OVERNIGHT SHIPPING PREMIUMS WAIVED.
3. PARTS RETURN -
REPLACEMENT PARTS WILL BE PACKAGED IN HEAVY GAUGE RETURNABLE BOXES. THE CORE ASSEMBLY SHOULD BE PACKAGED AND RETURNED TO GMSPO FOR CREDIT.
TO INSURE PROPER RETURN AND ANALYSIS OF PARTS, THE TECHNICIAN SHOULD COMPLETE THE ENCLOSED WIRE TIE LABEL AND ATTACH IT TO THE CYLINDER LINE OF THE RETURNED GEAR ASSEMBLY. INFORMATION REQUIRED WILL INCLUDE:

FOR VEHICLES REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, USE:
