  1. Disconnect the height sensor connector.
  2. Measure the voltage from the height sensor connector (vehicle side), terminal C to ground, with a DMM.

Is the measurement within the specified values?

10.5-15  V

Repair the open in CKT 340 (ORN) between the height sensor and the RH rear fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

Measure the voltage from the height sensor connector (vehicle side), terminal C to the same connector, terminal A.

Is the measurement within the specified values?

10.5-15  V

Repair the open in CKT 1050 (BLK).

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition ON.
  2. Measure the voltage from the height sensor connector (vehicle side), terminal D to terminal A, with a DMM.

Is the measurement within the specified values?

10.5-15  V

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in CKT 41 (BRN).

Is the repair complete?

Turn the ignition OFF and then ON.

Did the air compressor operate for 3 to 5 seconds after an initial 35 to 55 second delay?

Replace the height sensor. Refer to Automatic Level Control Sensor and Bracket Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

    Important: The vehicle must be raised on a drive-on lift or be supported at the rear under the rear axle. Full vehicle weight must be on the rear axle.

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Disconnect the link from the position sensor.
  3. Move the height sensor arm up 45 degrees above level.

Did the air compressor run after a 17-27 second delay?

Replace the height sensor. Refer to Automatic Level Control Sensor and Bracket Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Move the height sensor down slowly until the air compressor stops.

Did the air compressor stop?

Replace the height sensor. Refer to Automatic Level Control Sensor and Bracket Replacement .

Move the height sensor arm down 45 degrees below level.

Did air escape from the air compressor and the vehicle begin to lower after a 17-27 second delay.
