Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
- Release the cable (2) from the latch assembly (1).
- Remove the wheelhouse assembly. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
- Disconnect the cable (2) from the clips.
- Route the cable (3) along the body rail toward the rear of the vehicle.
- Remove the 2 screws (2) retaining the hood latch release handle (1).
- Remove the cable (3) through the passenger compartment opening.
- Disconnect the cable (3) from the release handle (1).
Important: Tie a string around the cable (3) before removing the cable (3) from the vehicle for the following reasons:
| • | In order to ensure proper routing. |
| • | In order to ease the installation of the release cable (3). |
Installation Procedure
- Connect the release cable (3) to the handle (1).
- Install the cable (3) into the engine compartment.
- Install the hood latch release handle (1).
- Install the screws (2) in order to retain the release handle (1).
- Connect the route cable (3) along the body rail to the front of the vehicle.
- Connect the cable (3) to the clips.
- Install the wheelhouse assembly.
- Connect the release cable (2) to the hood latch assembly (1).
- Close the hood.
