Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 171233 Size: SH
  1. Remove the vacuum check valve (3).
  2. Remove the grommet (1).
  3. Remove the booster. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement

    4. Object Number: 208028 Size: SH
  4. Remove the boot and the air filter
  5. Remove the front housing seal.
  6. Inspect the boot, the front housing seal, and the grommet (2) for the following conditions. Replace the components as necessary:
    7. • Cuts
    • Nicks
    • Excessive wear
  7. Clean the boot with denatured alcohol.

    8. Dry the boot with non-lubricated compressed air.

  8. Clean the front housing seal using denatured alcohol.

    9. Dry the front housing seal with non-lubricated compressed air.

  9. Clean the grommet (2) using denatured alcohol.

    10. Dry the grommet (2) with non-lubricated compressed air.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 208028 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the inside and the outside diameters of the grommet (2) and the front housing seal (5) using a thin layer of silicone grease.
  2. Install the front housing seal (5) .
  3. Install the air filter (3) and the boot.
  4. Install the booster (1). Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement

  5. Install the grommet (2).

    6. Object Number: 171233 Size: SH
  6. Install the vacuum check valve (3).
