Some noise is heard in all power steering systems. There is no relationship between the hissing noise and steering performance.

Important: Do not replace the valve and the pinion unless the hissing noise is extreme. A replacement valve and pinion also have a slight noise. Replacing the valve and pinion will not always cure the hissing noise.
