Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 443907 Size: SH
  1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Open the access door and disconnect the yellow 2-way air bag wire.
  3. Using locking pliers and a protective covering, remove the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
  4. Remove the column shift boot (1).
  5. Remove the 5 screws and the upper and lower steering column covers.
  6. Remove the 3 Torx® screws (3) and the shift lever assembly (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 443907 Size: SH
  1. Install the 3 Torx® screws (3) and the shift lever assembly (2).
  2. Install the 5 screws and the upper and lower steering column covers.
  3. Install the column shift boot (1) with the angled end (4) at the top.
  4. Using locking pliers and a protective covering, install the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
  5. Connect the yellow 2-way air bag wire and close the access door.
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
