Removal Procedure

  1. Run the wipers to the park position, if required.
  2. Disconnect the washer hose.
  3. Remove the protective cap.

  5. Lift the wiper arm and insert a suitable pin completely through the two holes located next to the pivot of the arm.
  6. Remove the nut.
  7. Remove the arm from the transmission drive shaft using a battery terminal puller.
  8. Clean the knurls of the transmission drive shaft with a wire brush.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the wiper arm assembly 25 mm (1 in) below the stop surface of the park ramp.

  2. Object Number: 452385  Size: SH
  3. Remove the pin from the wiper arm.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the new nut.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Lift the wiper arm over the park ramp.
  8. Connect the washer hose.
  9. Replace the protective cap.
  10. Run the wipers and inspect for the correct wipe pattern. The LH blade tip should wipe to a limit of 25-38 mm (1.0-1.5 in) from the outside edge of the glass. The RH blade should overlap in the LH wipe pattern.
  11. Turn the wipers off and inspect for proper park position.
