  1. Loosen the bolts for the hood latch.
  2. Adjust the front hood bumpers until the hood aligns with the front of the fenders. Use the following procedures as necessary:
  3. • Turn the front hood bumpers clockwise in order to lower the bumper.
    • Turn the front hood bumpers counterclockwise in order to raise the bumper.
  4. Measure the difference between the hood and the rear of the fender.
  5. Obtain a shim that is the same thickness as the difference between the hood and the rear of the fender.
  6. Loosen the hood hinge bolts.
  7. Install the shim between the hood hinge and the hood.
  8. Hand tighten the hood hinge bolts.
  9. Position the hood latch upward.
  10. Hand tighten the hood latch bolts.
  11. Carefully close the hood in order to engage the hood striker and the hood latch.
  12. Press on the hood until the hood is aligned with the front of the fenders.
  13. Adjust the clearance between the hood and the fender.
  14. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  15. Pull on the hood release cable and carefully open the hood.
  16. Tighten

        • Tighten the hood hinge bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
        • Tighten the hood latch bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
