- Wash the panel area with soap and water. Wipe the panel dry.
Important: Do not use 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner or equivalent on air
dry enamel.
- Use 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner or equivalent in order to remove
all of the adhesive from the following areas:
| • | The back of the molding |
- Use masking tape in order
to mark the correct position (1) of the molding. Use the adjacent moldings
as a guide.
- If the temperature of the body panel is less than 21°C (70°F),
use a heat lamp or heat gun in order to warm the body panel.
- Apply a double-coated acrylic foam tape to the molding. Use one
of the following types of 3M Super Automotive Attachment Tape or an equivalent:
| • | 3M Part 06380 (white backing) |
| • | 3M Part 06777 (black backing) |
| • | 3M Part 06382 (gray backing) |
- Align the molding to the tape guidelines. Press the molding firmly.
