Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 1999 🢒 Catera 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 3.0L 🢒 Cylinder Head Installation

    Object Number: 159196 Size: SH
  1. On the driver's side of the engine, install the new cylinder head gasket with OBEN/TOP imprint toward the front of the engine.

    2. Object Number: 159198 Size: SH
  2. On the passenger side of the engine, install the new cylinder head gasket with the OBEN/TOP imprint toward the rear of the engine.
  3. Install the cylinder head to the engine block ensuring adequate clearance from all wires, components, etc.

    4. Object Number: 159193 Size: MH

    Important: Use new cylinder head bolts. The required tightening method stretches the bolts, therefore the cylinder head bolts are not reusable.

  4. Install the new cylinder head bolts (1 thru 8).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the cylinder head bolts, using the tightening sequence in the illustration, to 25 N·m (18 lb ft) on the first pass, 90 degrees on the second pass, 90 degrees on the third pass, 90 degrees on the fourth pass and 15 degrees on the fifth pass.
