J 42067 Rear Main
Oil Sealer Installer
- Remove the flywheel. Refer to
Engine Flywheel Replacement
.
- Center punch the steel
ring of the rear main oil seal.
Important: Use caution when drilling the hole so as not to damage the engine components
on the opposite side of the rear main oil seal.
- Carefully drill a small, shallow, pilot hole into the steel ring of
the rear main oil seal.
- Screw in a self-tapping screw.
- Use pliers to pull the rear main oil seal out.
- Clean all sealing surfaces.
Installation Procedure
- Coat the lip of the rear main oil seal with a small amount of
chassis grease, GM P/N 12377985 or equivalent.
- Use the J 42067
to install the rear main oil seal.
- Install the flywheel. Refer to
Engine Flywheel Replacement
