The coolant heater is threaded into the left side of the engine block near the oil filter. The power supply cord is routed along the front of the engine and under the air cleaner housing. The power supply cord is stored under the right side radiator cover.
The coolant heater is used in the following ways:
• | To help maintain the desired viscosity of engine fluids |
• | To enable easier cold starts during extremely low temperatures in frigid environments |
Conductive heat is generated by electrical resistance (supplied by a 110 V power source) within the coolant heater. |
Proper installation of the heater and routing of the power supply cord is essential to prevent engine coolant leaks and damage to the power supply cord.
